Why We Formalized Our Financial Investigations Practice

When we started in 1999, it served several different parts of our early investigative work. But by 2015, one trend became undeniable: families and individuals were increasingly encountering complex online financial issues that traditional private investigators were not equipped to handle.

This year marked a turning point.
We formally established our financial investigations practice, focusing on documentation, data-backed conclusions, and a professional standard closer to forensic accounting than traditional PI work.

We were not yet dealing with cryptocurrency cases. At the time, most matters involved wire fraud, deceptive investment schemes, and interstate financial disputes. But our structured approach—clear reporting, evidence logs, and defined workflows—became the foundation for everything that came later.
